Wine is made from an ancient natural process of fermenting grape juice, where yeast converts the sugar in grapes into alcohol.

Wine tastes like a balance of fruit, acidity, body, and sometimes tannins or sweetness, with flavors that can range from fresh and fruity to earthy, floral, spicy, or oaky, depending on the grape and style.

Store wine in a cool, dark place with a stable temperature (10–15°C), lying on its side to keep the cork from drying.

Open wine stays fresh 3–5 days when re-corked and refrigerated.

Most wines have 11–15% alcohol, depending on the style. Because it is a fermented beverage, it cannot have alcohol above 16%.

First, cut and then remove the foil around the neck using the small knife in the corkscrew or a foil cutter. Then use a corkscrew, and twist into the center of cork, make sure to twist it all the way in. Then use the lever to pull out straight up and slowly. For sparkling wine, once you remove the foil and cage, hold the cork in one hand and twist the bottle from the base with the order hand (not the cork) gently. The cork will pop on its own without any pulling. 

Great wines for beginners are those that are smooth, fruity, and easy to drink, such as Pinot Grigio, unoaked Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc for white wine. For red wine try smooth and balanced Grenache, or fruit forward Merlot both with soft tannins.
