Where is Amstel beer made?
The story of Amstel goes back to 1870, when the iconic beer was first brewed in Amsterdam. Amstel quickly grew to become a success in The Netherlands. But the brand also expanded to all corners of the world through export, including Jordan.
Dr. Raouf Abujaber imported the first bottles of Amstel into Jordan in 1947. Amstel rapidly became very popular and this lead to the construction of the Amstel brewery in Zarqa. When opened in 1958, this was the first brewery outside The Netherlands to brew Amstel.
