Querciabella Chianti Classico has been the centrepiece of the estate’s winemaking operations since the onset. Consistently ranking at the highest levels of critical acclaim, it’s a real delight for wine and food enthusiasts all over the world.

Elegant and vibrant, it strikes a beautiful balance between varietal purity, vibrancy and depth. The grapes are sourced from hillside vineyards across three of the denomination’s best sub-zones, capturing the finest qualities of high-altitude Sangiovese.

Drawing on more than 15 years of single-site vinifications, Querciabella has perfected a rigorous approach to the variety. Each year, around sixty micro-vinifications preserve the individuality of every parcel, before the winemaking team carefully assembles the final blend, always true to the personality of the vintage.

After a patient maturation, the wine gains suppleness and finesse, highlighting the varietal fruit notes that define great Sangiovese. Versatile and expressive, Querciabella Chianti Classico shines at the table, pairing effortlessly with a wide range of cuisines.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red with violet reflections, the 2022 Chianti Classico is a vibrant, polished expression of Sangiovese. Aromas of red cherry, plum, and blood orange mingle with hints of spice, cedar, and rose petal.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with a core of juicy red fruit framed by bright acidity and fine-grained tannins that provide definition and length. Nuances of graphite, forest floor, and new leather add depth, while the finish is elegant, savoury, and persistent.

Food Pairing

This Chianti Classico is a perfect food wine, pairing naturally with all sorts of Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine. It is best enjoyed alongside flavors of tomato and olive oil and doesn’t fear coming close to herbs and spices.
