Founded in 1985, Planeta is one of Sicily’s most influential wine producers, known for combining deep respect for the island’s indigenous varieties with modern winemaking expertise. Across six estates spanning Sicily’s diverse landscapes, from Menfi and Capo Milazzo to Mount Etna, Planeta highlights the connection between grape, climate, and terroir. The estate champions native varieties such as Nero d’Avola, Carricante, and Fiano while producing elegant interpretations of international grapes including Chardonnay and Pinot Nero.

Santa Cecilia is Planeta’s flagship expression of Nero d’Avola, Sicily’s most iconic red grape. First released in 1997, it helped redefine perceptions of Sicilian wine by demonstrating the variety’s potential for elegance, depth, and longevity. Grown in the Noto area, this wine combines rich Mediterranean fruit with refined tannins and a distinctive sense of place.
