Superbly smoky single malt here from Bruichladdich, released under the Octomore named and bottled up for the Stories of Wind & Wave series by The Character of Islay Whisky Company. Distilled in 2011, it was eventually bottled up at 9 years of age, presented at 50% ABV. Wonderful stuff from a range dedicated to showing off the brilliance of Islay whiskies.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Coastal air and seaweed, plus hints of milky coffee and vanilla pod.

Palate: Fresh fruit - green apples, white grapes, and more - shortly followed by another helping of smoky peat.

Finish: Nutty on the finish, but once again still peaty.
