· Serving Temperature: Serve port wine slightly below room temperature. Vintage ports are best enjoyed at around 60°F (15°C), while tawny ports can be served a bit cooler, around 55°F (13°C).
· Glassware: Use a traditional port wine glass, which has a small bowl and a slightly narrower rim. This design helps concentrate the aromas and enhance the tasting experience.
· Decanting: Vintage ports often benefit from decanting to separate the wine from any sediment and to allow the flavors to open. Pour the wine slowly into a decanter and let it breathe for about an hour before serving.
