Description

The Glenfarclas Family Cask series is full of some pretty special whiskies, and this one from its Summer 2022 release is no exception. The single cask Highland single malt was distilled in 1998 and matured in a fourth-fill sherry butt. An outturn of only 557 bottles here, at a robust ABV of 54.2%.

  • Nose: Sweet and fruity. Dominated by aromas of lemons, oranges, honey, and soft orchard fruits like apricot, with a light, delicate, and spicy oak backbone.
  • Palate: Rich and smooth with a pleasant, thick texture. Flavors include sweet orange, milk chocolate, and dried fruits (raisins, apricot) balanced with a subtle, well-integrated spicy, woody note.
  • Finish: Medium to long. The finish is characterized by lingering notes of oak, baking spices, rich chocolate, and sometimes a slight nuttiness or hint of mint.
