This single malt from Ardmore spent 19 years maturing, including a finish in a custom-made Pedro Ximénez sherry octave courtesy of the gang behind the Darkness indie bottling range. Octave casks are smaller than your average cask, ensuring more contact between the spirit and the wood, so you can expect generous sherry influence here.

Nose Toasted coconut, damp charcoal, and chewy toffee.

Palate Earthy peat smoke, toffee, meaty malt, and barky, woody spice.

Finish Sticky toffee, cured meat, honey-soaked prunes, and raisins back resinous oak.
