    Description

    Col d’Orcia means the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The Orcia River marks the South West border of the Brunello di Montalcino territory in Tuscany. It is the mission of Col d’Orcia to produce the best possible wines that the exceptional combination of soil and climate of this part of Montalcino can achieve. Since 2010 the whole estate is run following exclusively organic agricultural practices.

    The name Gineprone refers to the aromatic herb Juniper and indicates how this Chianti from the Siena hills reminds the drinker of all the herbs and spices that are typical of the Mediterranean underwood. Complex and full bodied yet approachable and fruity, Gineprone is the Montalcino version of the Chianti wine that has made Tuscany famous around the world.

    Tasting Notes


    Intense ruby red. Complex, broad and deep with gentle notes of red fruits well combined with the oak and with spicy hints given by the wood. Good structure, soft and ripe tannins which lead to a fresh, persistent aftertaste. Good structure, soft and ripe tannins which lead to a fresh and persistent aftertaste.

    Food Pairing

    Chianti goes very well with meat dishes such as ossobuco, leg of lamb, lamb chops, roast beef in Madeira sauce, wild duck, venison, and pizza with meat.

    • We offer store credit within 7 days of purchase, with the original receipt or proof of payment for unopened, undamaged products in the original packaging. Please note that we won’t be able to proceed without the original product being returned.
    • Faulty wines that have been opened must be returned within 2 days of opening, at which time we will offer you a replacement bottle of the same wine.
    • We do not offer refunds.
