Description

This single cask Bowmore comes as part of Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular bottling range, having been aged for 21 years! It was distilled in November 1997, and filled into a single refill hogshead for over two decades. The single malt was bottled at cask strength in March 2019, with an outturn of 289 bottles weighing in at 57.6% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Big, bold and salty early on the nose, warming to a sweet peat character with obvious barley qualities.

Palate: The palate opens in a damp earth, coal dusty burst, incorporating summer tar, drifting smoke and a dulcet phenolic character.

Finish: The finish is a fine replication of what went before.
