    Description

    Founded in 1990 by Álvaro Palacios, this iconic winery has played a leading role in the rebirth of Priorat as one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions. After training at the legendary Pétrus in Pomerol, Palacios was drawn to the forgotten, rugged slopes of Priorat, where ancient bush vines grow in steep, slate-based soils known as llicorella. Recognizing the region’s immense potential, he began acquiring vineyards, quickly establishing a benchmark estate now ranked alongside the greats of Spanish wine, such as Dominio de Pingus and Vega Sicilia.

     

    Tasting Notes

    This exceptional Garnacha-Carignan blend hails from an old, north-facing vineyard planted on bluish slate soils, surrounded by holm oaks, pine, and wild lavender. The site captures the dual energy of the Mediterranean warmth and cooling northern breezes, yielding a wine of fleshy opulence and vibrant freshness.

    • Nose: Aromas of ripe black fruits, eucalyptus, and Mediterranean herbs rise from the glass with aromatic intensity.

    • Palate: Muscular and voluminous, with silky tannins, vibrant fruit, and a subtle earthy minerality on the finish. A wine that’s both powerful and poised.

    • Cheese: Try with aged Manchego or grana padano.

    • Faulty wines that have been opened must be returned within 2 days of opening, at which time we will offer you a replacement bottle of the same wine.
