Yangarra McLaren Vale GSM 2016

The Yangarra GSM is a careful blending of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre in which the composition varies from year to year, conveying the traditional estate blends of the southern Rhône. The backbone of the wine comes from their prized old bush vine Grenache, which was planted in 1946.

Yangarra is a biodynamic wine farm in the northeast of the McLaren Vale region in South Australia. Our philosophy centers around producing southern Rhone varietal wines only from our single vineyard estate that are an honest reflection of this special place.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Ripe black raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice aromas leap from the glass followed by subtle scorched earth and pepper scents. Rich and full in body, a wave of succulent black raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits cascade across the palate underscored by ripe chewy tannins and vibrant acidity. Some scorched earth and spicy pepper characters are also evident. Excellent structure, power and concentration with a long sturdy yet sumptuous finish.
