Description

This iconic Tuscan winery is owned and run by Stella Viola di Campalto, of Roman & Piedmontese origin, located close to the south-eastern village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Stella created San Giuseppe on her own in 1992. From a formerly abandoned vineyard that was revived in 1992, Stella has been a biodynamic pioneer for decades. Today Stella di Campalto is one of Brunello di Montalcino’s most sought-after producers, and certainly one of its most respected artisans. She has achieved this through her natural, and non-interventionist approach.

This single vineyard Sangiovese is sourced from her .4 hectacre parcel, and harvested by hand. The wine sees 42 months in used wood, and 27 months in bottle before release. This is an energetic Brunello with finesse.
