Facing Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien, this property has belonged to the Meffre family since 1961 (also owners of Château Bellegrave in Pauillac). This second wine of Château du Glana is produced with the same care as its elder brother. The vintage is magnificent through a round, concentrated, balanced wine with spectacular freshness. This a superb bottle to introduce yourself to this prestigious appellation.

Tasting Notes

The deep dark red/black/purple color reveals a noble concentrated and sweet bouquet of cassis and violets, typical of Saint-Julien, accompanied by subtle nuances of cedar. Rich and intense, the palate, which still needs to develop, evokes sweet black currants and milk chocolate. It has a thick and unctuous texture, a beautiful freshness, and a splendid finish. A magnificent Saint-Julien typical of a rich vintage. Aged 12 months in oak barrels. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot.

Food Pairing

Delicious with sirloin, tournedos Rossini, or a duck confit.
