Description

In 1970, Enrique Forner founded Marqués de Cáceres, a historic Alliance between a region (Cenicero, La Rioja Alta); the best vine growers and vineyards in La Rioja, with a Bordeaux concept that revolutionised the Rioja. Enrique had one objective - to obtain the best wines which continues to the third generation of this wine family.

Antea is a result of bringing together two of the most interesting white Rioja varieties: Viura and Tempranillo Blanco. Plots of old vines of Viura merged with old red vineyards that bring great structure and elegance and a small percentage of the indigenous Tempranillo Blanco variety. This offers acidity, freshness, vivacity and an excellent capacity for aging. Antea is fermented on its lees for 2 months in new French oak barrels to add complexity.

Tasting Notes

Intense and complex aroma combines mature apples with delicate toasted notes and light traces of minerals. In the mouth it is silky, soft and full, with delicious flavors and a balanced complexity. This magnificent white wine reveals the character of its local grapes with elegance and class.
