Description

The Barolo Galina of the Crissante Alessandria winery is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes that grow in Galina di La Morra, which is why this Barolo is called Galina! Here the soil is clayey limestone with traces of fine sand.

The harvest is strictly manual with a careful selection of the grapes. Once in the cellar, the winemaking takes place in thermo-conditioned steel tanks; fermentation in contact with the skins lasts about 2 weeks. The wine ages for a period ranging from 24 to 30 months, in oak barrels of various sizes; one-third of the barrels are new. Generally, the wine is bottled in July and rests in the cellar in the dark for a further 9 months before being placed on the market.

Tasting Notes

Bright garnet red. The aroma is intense with pleasant hints of ripe red fruits alternating with notes of dried apricot to close with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied and elegant to the palate, it is a well-balanced wine where the noble tannins are very soft and delicate. Velvety with a dry and harmonious aftertaste. A wine of great quality
