Col d'Orcia Ghiaie Bianche Chardonnay 2020

Col d’Orcia means the hill overlooking the Orcia River. The Orcia River marks the South West border of the Brunello di Montalcino territory and the name of the farm is intrinsically linked to the physical location were the vineyards are planted. It is the mission of Col d’Orcia to produce the best possible wines that the exceptional combination of soil and climate of this part of Montalcino can achieve. Since 2010 the whole estate is run following exclusively organic agricultural practices.

Ghiaie Bianche is a barrel fermented Chardonnay from grapes grown on the Col d’Orcia estate and will give the taster the chance of savoring the character of the Montalcino in the best known white aromatic grape. You will find in this wine all the depth and intensity of the Mediterranean summer.

Tasting Notes

Intense straw yellow. Intense and complex bouquet with fruity notes like yellow apple and pineapple with elegant scent of spices and vanilla coming from the aging. Ample and structured with a pleasant savory and mineral texture. The aftertaste is fruity and lasting.

Food Pairing

Seafood with butter and brown-butter sauces, such as sage-butter. It will pair beautifully with polenta with mushrooms, and also chicken dishes.
