Chateau Clinet 'By Clinet' 2017

This 8-hectare property is situated at the edge of the plateau of Pomerol behind Clos L'Eglise. It shot to fame following a 100-point Parker rating in 1989 and then repeated this feat 20 years later. By Clinet Pomerol was created to artfully blend the three different types of terroir that characterize Pomerol.  The vinification and ageing are carried out by the same team and with as much attention as for the “Grand Vin”. Ageing in second-fill barrels brings out the freshness and finesse of the aromas.

Tasting Notes

Made from Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc and aged for 12 months in second-use barrels. « BY CLINET 2017 is wrapped in folds of dark garnet. Aromas of fruits of the forest, plum and blackcurrant jostle on the nose, sprinkled with oriental spice, black pepper and Tonka bean. The soft, creamy texture heralds a cavalcade of ripe fruit, mixed herbs, leather and chocolate. The finish lingers delectably, radiating scents of brown sugar and orange zest.
