Manoel Pedro Guedes is a wine that is the result of a meticulous viticulture and winemaking. Inspired by the first blend created at Quinta da Aveleda, only the best grapes of Loureiro and Alvarinho coming from the best parcels of the Quinta go into this wine. The wine ferments in stainless steel vats (50%) and in French oak casks (50%) and then ages for 8 months. Only as small portion of the wine is bottled, only the best samples from stainless steel vats and oak casks go into the final blend. This final blend is then bottled and aged for 1 year.

Tasting Notes

The 2018 vintage was 90% Alvarinho + 10% Loureiro. The medium yellow, hints at the time this wine spent ageing. The blend of hand-picked Alvarinho and Loureiro grapes presents a perfectly harmonious bouquet: notes of jasmine, vanilla blossom and lime zest, blend with soft hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, this wine starts to reveal its essence: an unique minerality, backed by a buttery body that fills your senses. The vibrant notes of ripe grapefruit, pineapple and lime are followed by more discreet aromas of wet gravel and a slight hint of vanilla.
