Akashi White Oak Meïsei Japanese Blended Whisky

"Meïsei" can be roughly translated into "celebrity", which drives home immediately what this drink is all about. Meïsei Blended Whisky comes from the White Oak distillery in the Japanese town of Akashi, which is near the city of Kōbe, mainly famous for its beef of the same name. This drink definitely does its bit to put the lesser-known Akashi on the map for its brilliant whisky distillation!

The Meïsei blend is based on 45% single malt whisky matured in American oak barrels. The amber-coloured whisky smells seductively of oak, smoke and vanilla. The palate surprises with a soft touch of cherries as well as aromas of honey and again wood. You can definitely sense a close relation to American bourbon whiskey. Relish the "celebrity" drink neat!
