Description

The whisky presented here, distilled in January 2002, spent over 18 years in a refilled hogshead cask. Bottled at 48.4% abv and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Old Particular series in March 2020 in an edition of 309 bottles.

Nose: malted barley, peat smoke, damp chalk, roasted peanuts, vanilla, sweet bread, apples, cinnamon, hints of hay, smoked meat and oak.

Palate : salted peanuts, seaweed, smoked meat, green apples, gooseberries, herbal mix, notes of vanilla, ginger and toasted oak.

Finish : quite long, with notes of salted nuts, smoked meat, vanilla, honey, peat smoke and ash.
