This red Sancerre with flint soil comes from a very small 45 year old vineyard. Maceration of 2 weeks and regular pumping over. The wine undergoes wood maturation for 10 to 12 months in old barrels of an average of 10 years.
This wine exudes aromas of sunny, even jammy fruits such as strawberry, blackberry and currant. The fine wood tones are promising. Generous and ripe red fruit in the mouth, with a firm body and supple tannins. The discrete wood flavors blend beautifully with the fruit and the supporting acids. This is simply enjoying a good glass of Pinot Noir. We wouldn't say no to a wooden board of charcuterie with it!
