Franck Massard Huellas Blanco 2019

Franck Massard is one of Spain’s most respected winemakers. He started out his wine career as a sommelier at several Michelin-starred restaurants. Respected for being one the most environmentally-conscious winemakers - he takes immaculate care of his vineyards, with total respect for the wildlife and plants that populate them.

The Huellas Blanco is a total delight in a region best known for big and beefy reds.

It’s made from Garnacha Blanca or White Grenache, which is the same grape you’ll find in white Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The butterfly on the stunning label is a nod to this - when Franck took over the vineyard, they found 8 species of butterfly. A few years later with all of Franck’s work, there are now 14.

Tasting Notes

The nose is complex and enticing - with floral, fruity and mineral aromas, there’s lots going on. On the palate it’s rich and crisp, with a long and fresh finish.

Food Pairing

This is definitely a food wine - try it with poultry or game with a mushroomy sauce, or also scallops would be dreamy.
