Every Monday from 7-8:30/9 pm; Unlock the secrets of the wine world with our beginner Wine 101 course.

Become the wine expert in your crew with 8 hours of training as you taste at least 12 wines (3 per session) in a fast-paced instruction on the essential aspects of the world’s major wine regions.

What do I get out of it?

Our wine classes, taught by industry experts, are the best way to dive into the world of wine. There are three main goals for Wine 101

  • Help you figure out what you like about wine and why
  • Decipher wine menus & sommelier jargon to be able to easily order and buy wines you will love
  • Become the reference for wine – well on your way to being the expert in your crew

You will learn the fundamentals of how wine is made (Class 1), the Deductive Tasting Method and Food Pairing (Class 2), Sparkling Wines (Class 3), and Fortified & Dessert Wines (Class 4).

Prerequisites & Requirements 

NONE!

Wine, glasses, and even a study guide will be provided. But the World Atlas of Wine by Johnson & Robinson is an extremely helpful reference book in the world of wine. It is available both at DNA and Dara for purchase. Wine Folly, the Essential Guide to Wine is also a helpful reference. You can also check out these books at our library.
