Description
There are few families that are in the top echelon of every wine category they own. When it comes to Bordeaux's Right Bank, the Thienpont family is one to reckon with! Since their marriage in 1997, Jacques & Fiona (MW in 1994) have been dividing their time among their three estates: Château Le Pin (Pomerol) , Château l'IF (St Emilion) and more recently L'Hetre (Castillon).
It is a decade ago that Jacques Thienpont made his first wine at L’If, the beautifully situated estate on the plateau of Saint Emilion, next to Château Troplong Mondot and Chateau Pavie-Macquin with gorgeous views over the medieval village. This is the second release of Collines de L’If, its name evocative of the rolling slopes where the grapes for this second wine are grown.
